Job summary

NES Fircroft is recruiting on behalf of an oil and gas client in Qatar for a Senior Safety Technician to participate in the implementation of the safety management programme. You will work closely with the Safety Officer to ensure robust HSE practices on site.

Key responsibilities include conducting scheduled safety inspections, monitoring gas testing, supporting incident investigations, and maintaining safety equipment records.

Qualifications

• Eight years of related experience, preferably in a petrochemical environment.
• Completed secondary education (12 years) and two years of technical training.
• English proficiency level 6 (minimum) and a recognised Safety Management course.
• Valid Qatar driving licence and First Aid certificate (mandatory).

Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled safety inspections across facilities and verify safety equipment readiness.
• Prepare inspection reports and support close-out of corrective actions.
• Monitor gas testing and interpret results, advising on safe actions.
• Assist with incident investigations and issue written reports.
• Maintain safety equipment records and stock levels, including sensors and detectors.
• Oversee Permit to Work (PTW) system and report unsafe practices.
• Provide on-site HSE advice to maintenance and construction teams.
