Job summary

Wood is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to lead project execution for Oil & Gas initiatives in Qatar. You will manage multi-location teams, specify pumps, compressors and rotating equipment, and prepare technical datasheets while coordinating with clients and suppliers.

Ideal candidates hold a Mechanical Engineering degree (chartered preferred) with 15+ years in Oil & Gas, familiarity with API/ISO/ASME, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering with chartered status preferred.
• Minimum 15 years' experience in Oil & Gas post-graduation.
• Experience with process/utility compressors, gas and steam turbines, pumps and rotating equipment.
• Experience across brownfield/greenfield projects, onshore/offshore, EPC lifecycle.
• Familiarity with API, ISO and ASME codes and Shell DEPs.
• Strong written and spoken English, ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead overall project execution and liaison with client technical personnel.
• Provide technical management of multi-location team (London, India, Qatar).
• Specify rotating equipment and prepare mechanical datasheets and specs.
• Prepare enquiries for budget pricing and long-lead items; evaluate supplier bids.
• Supervise supplier design and coordinate interfaces with other disciplines.
• Support inspection, testing, installation, and commissioning phases.
