Job summary

Ably Resources is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of major capital projects in the power and utilities sector in Qatar. The role requires 12+ years in project engineering and management, with strong background in power generation and/or desalination, and experience delivering IWPP or similar utility infrastructure projects.

• Expertise across the full project lifecycle—from feasibility through to commissioning and handover.
• Strong knowledge of contracts, risk management, tendering and multidisciplinary project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of major capital projects within the power and utilities sector.
• Oversee feasibility, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Manage contracts, risk, budgets and stakeholder interfaces across multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and to required quality standards.

I’m currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of major capital projects within the power and utilities sector.

12+ years’ experience in project engineering & project management

Strong background in power generation and/or desalination projects

Experience delivering IWPP or similar utility infrastructure projects

Expertise across the full project lifecycle—from feasibility through to commissioning and handover

Strong knowledge of contracts, risk management, tendering and multidisciplinary project delivery

Engineering degree (Electrical, Mechanical or Process)

Renewable energy experience, Primavera P6 and SAP-PS knowledge would all be advantageous.
