Job summary

McDermott in Doha, Qatar, seeks a Senior Principal Hook Up Engineer to lead complex hook-up and commissioning activities, providing specialist guidance within the Fab discipline and ensuring project execution aligns with schedule and budget.

The role requires leading multidisciplinary teams, coordinating with clients and contractors, conducting risk reviews, HAZID/SIMOPS, and enforcing industry standards so offshore facilities are delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) with preference for Master's or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years in the EPCI industry focusing on hook-up and commissioning.
• Proven track record delivering complex offshore hook-up projects.
• Knowledge of industry standards, codes and regulations for hook-up/commissioning.
• Proficient in planning, execution and documentation software/tools.
• Strong leadership and project management with multidisciplinary coordination.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, proactive and results-driven.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies for hook-up to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to define requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
• Conduct inspections and audits to monitor progress and quality of hook-up activities.
• Define shutdown and turnaround strategies and manage interfaces with clients.
