Job summary

Brunel Oil and Gas Services WLL Qatar is seeking a Senior OT Cyber Security Engineer for an LNG project in Qatar. You will perform engineering studies, design secure OT systems, and support project execution from commissioning to handover.

The role requires 6+ years in oil & gas, strong OT/ICS network knowledge, and experience with IEC 62443 and related frameworks. Excellent English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Minimum six years in oil & gas engineering, LNG offshore/onshore or petrochemical environments.
• Strong knowledge of OT/ICS networks, protocols and control systems.
• Experience with OT security standards and secure-by-design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Perform OT Cyber Security engineering studies and design for onshore/offshore OT IIS infrastructure.
• Develop and review OT Cyber Security solutions covering DCS/SIS/SCADA/PLC/ICSS, networks, endpoints and boundary protection.
• Support feasibility studies, cost estimates, technical evaluations, and secure-by-design reviews.
• Support project execution: FAT, SAT, commissioning, handover and cybersecurity verification.
• Participate in OT Cyber Security risk assessments, audits, gap reviews and action closure.
• Provide technical support for OT security incidents, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Support lifecycle management: upgrades, obsolescence, maintenance strategies, long-term cyber plans.
• Coordinate with engineering, IT vendors, OEMs, consultants on OT security requirements.

We are hiring a Senior OT Cyber Security Engineer for an LNG project in Qatar

Key Responsibilities

• Perform OT Cyber Security engineering studies design and execution support for onshore and offshore OT IIS infrastructure
• Develop and review OT Cyber Security solutions covering DCS SIS SCADA PLC ICSS industrial networks endpoint protection network boundary protection OT IDS SIEM authentication and access control
• Support engineering studies including feasibility assessments cost estimates technical evaluations solution development and secure-by-design reviews
• Support project execution activities including technical queries engineering design reviews FAT SAT commissioning system handover and cybersecurity verification
• Participate in OT Cyber Security risk assessments audits cold-eye reviews gap assessments and closure of cybersecurity action items
• Provide technical support for OT cybersecurity incidents advanced troubleshooting root-cause analysis OT recovery and restoration activities
• Support OT lifecycle management system upgrades obsolescence management maintenance strategies and long-term cybersecurity improvement plans
• Coordinate with Engineering Projects Operations Maintenance IT vendors OEMs consultants and third-party service providers on OT Cyber Security requirements and implementation

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Automation & Control Systems, Industrial Control Systems, Cyber Security, Computer Science Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of engineering experience in the Oil & Gas industry, preferably with LNG, offshore/onshore facilities, refinery or petrochemical environments.
• Strong hands-on understanding of DCS, SIS, SCADA, PLC, ICSS, metering, machinery monitoring/control systems and Instrument Asset Management Systems.
• Strong knowledge of OT/ICS communication networks and industrial protocols.
• Hands-on knowledge of OT Cyber Security solutions including Endpoint Protection Platforms (EPP), industrial network and boundary protection, firewalls, OT IDS, SIEM, authentication and access control.
• Good knowledge of OT Cyber Security standards and frameworks including IEC 62443, ISA, NIST and ISO.
• Experience in OT Cyber Security engineering, secure-by-design, network segmentation, cybersecurity risk assessment, vulnerability management, incident response and recovery.
• Experience supporting FAT, SAT, commissioning, design reviews, project execution and system handover.
• Experience working with OT vendors, OEMs, contractors and engineering consultants.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Candidates with a combination of strong Oil & Gas control systems/ICSS experience and dedicated OT Cyber Security experience are encouraged to apply.
