Job summary

QatarEnergy LNG in Qatar is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to support expansion project activities, pre-commissioning, commissioning, preservation, and start-up tasks. The role emphasizes safe field maintenance and reliable asset performance.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on turbines, pumps, valves, exchangers, and related equipment; review P&IDs; work in a multinational environment; and ensure proper records and reports are delivered.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience as a technician in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry.
• Completion of secondary school education followed by vocational training program (TAFE).
• Good written and oral communication skills in English.
• Good adaptability to multinational environment.

Responsibilities

• Participates in pre-commissioning, commissioning, preservation and start-up of new equipment and facilities.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance work on field Mechanical equipment as directed in the field and workshop in line with safe work practices.
• Ensure material and spare parts are available and in good condition before starting maintenance activities as per work plan.
• Ensure applicable maintenance procedures are followed and ensure proper controls are in place to ensure safe workplace.
• Provides accurate records and close-out reports of all completed work as per company requirements, as requested and guided by Foreman/Supervisor.
• Participates in troubleshooting of Mechanical field issues, as directed and guided by Foreman/Supervisor and issues timely reports.
• Review the Piping & Instrument Diagram and Drawings (P&IDs,) loop drawings, hook-up drawings, Mechanical Index, Mechanical datasheets, logic diagrams and other documents required to tackle issues related to Mechanical field.
• Perform calibrated and certified tools specific for the job type and ensure requirements for Intrinsic Safety (IS).
• Participates in Regular Toolbox meeting with colleagues and reports all Near Misses, Incidents and Accidents during operation by raising B-Safe and observation cards
