Job summary

AMALQA AL KHALEEJ TRADING & CONTRACTING W.L.L is seeking an experienced Testing / Commissioning Technician to support testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning and start‑up activities for oil and gas facilities in Qatar. You will inspect equipment and systems, perform functional tests, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with project specs and HSE requirements.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience and an ITI or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or related discipline

Qualifications

• ITI or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in testing, pre-commissioning, or commissioning activities within the oil and gas or petrochemical industry.
• Practical knowledge of testing procedures, commissioning methods, troubleshooting, and technical documentation.
• Experience working on oil and gas facilities, process plants, pipelines, or related industrial projects.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals, as applicable.
• Familiarity with PTW systems, risk assessments, and industrial safety practices.
• Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and under the supervision of commissioning engineers or supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities for oil and gas equipment, systems, and associated installations.
• Inspect, functional test, and verify mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems as applicable.
• Assist in pressure testing, leak testing, flushing, purging, and system cleaning per approved procedures.
• Verify equipment installation, alignment, connections, and readiness for testing and commissioning.
• Operate testing instruments and equipment according to procedures and manufacturer recommendations.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and report equipment faults, system malfunctions, and commissioning issues.
• Record test results, prepare testing reports, maintain checklists, and complete commissioning documentation.
• Coordinate with commissioning engineers, supervisors, QA/QC personnel, and other technical teams for timely completion.
• Support punch-list clearance, system handover, and start-up activities.
• Follow Permit to Work (PTW), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and other applicable HSE requirements.
• Ensure tools, instruments, and testing equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
• Comply with client specifications, project procedures, industry standards, and site safety regulations.
