Job summary

Advanced Search is seeking a seasoned Materials Engineer to lead corrosion control for offshore and onshore oil and gas projects in Qatar. You will design corrosion management strategies, assess RBI/FFS, and ensure compliance with NACE, ASME, API, ISO and ASTM standards.

The role requires FEED, detailed design, and EPC project experience, along with proficiency in ANSYS or Abaqus and corrosion modeling tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgy or Mechanical Engineering; MME accreditation mandatory.
  • NACE CIP Level 3 or Corrosion Specialist certification desirable.
  • Experience in FEED, detailed design and EPC for offshore/onshore oil & gas projects.
  • Proficiency with corrosion modeling software (ECE, NORSOK or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of welding and fabrication impacts on material integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Perform material selection for offshore and onshore facilities, considering corrosive environments, temperature, and pressure.
  • Develop and implement corrosion management strategies, including cathodic protection, coatings, and inhibitors.
  • Provide guidance on material and coating compatibility with fluids and gases handled by the system.
  • Design and implement asset integrity programs, including RBI, FMEA.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for material failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Evaluate and provide recommendations on fitness-for-service (FFS) assessments for aging assets.
  • Ensure compliance with international codes and standards such as NACE, ASME, API, ISO, and ASTM.
  • Collaborate with Process, Mechanical, and Piping disciplines to integrate corrosion control measures into design deliverables.
