Job summary

Tan Int in Qatar seeks an experienced Senior L2 Operations Engineer specialized in Ericsson Router 6000 (R6K) and SPOs. You will own L2 production operations, troubleshoot complex incidents, perform RCA, and manage MOPs and software releases in a live production environment.

The role requires hands-on R6K experience, scripting skills in Python and Groovy for automation, and readiness for a 1-year extendable contract in Qatar.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional engineering experience in telecommunications IP/MPLS core and transport networks.
• Hands-on operational experience with Ericsson Router 6000 (R6K) and SPOs node platforms.
• Proven experience in L2 production operations, incident resolution, and deep-dive troubleshooting.
• Release management, software deployments, and MOP governance.
• Python and Groovy scripting for network automation and operational tooling.
• Familiarity with telecom order orchestration and revenue assurance concepts.
• Ericsson R6K Foundation or higher certification.
• Availability for a 1-year extendable contract in Qatar.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert L2 production operations for Ericsson Router 6000 (R6K) and SPOs nodes.
• Lead complex incident resolution and RCA for network outages.
• Manage software releases, firmware upgrades, and MOP compliance.
• Develop automation scripts using Python and Groovy for workflows.
• Support telecom order orchestration and revenue assurance data validation.
• Collaborate with NOC, field teams, and vendor support.
• Ensure carrier-grade availability and security baselines.
• Review engineering change requests and runbooks.
• Participate in on-call rotation for escalation handling.
• Maintain technical documentation and incident logs.
