Job summary

Parsons is seeking a highly experienced Principal Drainage Engineer in Doha, Qatar. You will lead civil and transport drainage design across a wide range of projects, performing detailed hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and mentoring junior engineers.

You will deliver technical designs for drainage networks, stormwater quality systems, and sustainable drainage concepts while coordinating with CAD/BIM teams to meet client expectations and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Hydraulic/Hydrology/Water and/or Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years experience in water engineering including stormwater drainage design, management, and planning.
• Strong knowledge of hydrology and hydraulics principles.
• Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software (CAD, SWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS).
• Proficiency with Infoworks ICM (1D/2D) is compulsory.
• Excellent GIS/CAD skills (ArcMap, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation).
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or progress toward qualification; able to lead multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil and transport drainage design across projects.
• Analyze hydrological and hydraulic models in detail.
• Provide technical design for drainage and stormwater quality systems.
• Design hydraulics for complex environments meeting site requirements.
• Apply sustainable drainage and water-sensitive design concepts.
• Mentor intermediate and junior engineers; ensure QA/QC of deliverables.
• Perform hydrologic modeling, calculations, drawings, reports, design reviews.
• Lead projects, build client relationships, and secure design approvals.
• Coordinate with CAD/BIM/3D teams on project deliverables.
