Job summary

Parsons in Doha, Qatar is seeking a Drainage Engineer to design stormwater drainage systems across diverse projects, with emphasis on SuDS and hydrologic modeling. You will work under senior engineers, coordinating with CAD/BIM teams to deliver safe and sustainable drainage solutions.

The role requires a civil/environmental/water engineering background, 5+ years of related experience, and strong skills in CAD, GIS, and hydrologic software. GCC experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil/Environmental/Hydrology or Water Engineering from a reputable university.
• Minimum 5+ years experience in infrastructure and civil projects, water engineering and stormwater.
• Strong knowledge of hydrology and hydraulics principles.
• Experience designing culverts, urban and highway drainage systems.
• Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software (CAD, SWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS).
• Infoworks ICM is a plus; proficient GIS/CAD tooling (ArcMap, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microstation).
• Knowledge of SuDS and Water Sensitive Design, plus strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Independently carry out design of stormwater drainage systems for various projects.
• Manage design of non-conventional/smart drainage systems and SuDS.
• Investigating and developing stormwater drainage designs with supervision based on urban drainage principles.
• Hydraulic and system design of the complex environment to meet site-specific requirements.
• Understand the biological and physical process of stormwater management.
• Apply innovative ideas, technology, and value engineering solutions.
• Supervision and support to junior engineers.
• Undertake hydrologic modeling, calculations, drawings, and report writing.
• Work across all stages of a project with coaching from senior engineers.
• Coordinate with CAD / BIM / 3-D modeling teams on projects.
• Performs other responsibilities as may be appropriate.
