Job summary

Brunel seeks a Senior Control Engineer to provide design reviews, commissioning, start-up support, and fault analysis for major oil and gas projects in Qatar. You will lead high-stress problem solving, drive change, and supervise contractors to ensure reliable, available, and secure control systems.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering with at least 6 years in oil and gas, strong leadership, and fluent English, with proven ability to operate under pressure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• 6 years' experience in oil and gas environment.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Ability to work under high-stress conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform design reviews, commissioning, start-up, failure analysis, and advanced troubleshooting.
• Lead punch list and warranty claim resolutions; support Management of Change.
• Develop and implement surveillance and administration programs for control systems on new projects.
• Provide technical input to other disciplines to support business objectives.
• Supervise contractors, consultants, and service providers; guide junior engineers.
• Manage project tie-ins and ensure smooth integration of all systems under responsibility.
• Maintain issue register and address critical risks related to reliability, availability, and cyber security.

Provide a variety of Control Engineering supports to contribute to the division strategy and goals which includes design reviews commissioning start-up failure analysis and advanced troubleshooting as part of punch list and warranty claim resolutions and Management of Change Support development and implementation of surveillance and administration programs for critical Control Systems of new projects to achieve high standards of Reliability Availability and Cyber Security Advise and support the definition and implementation of integrity program for control equipment to achieve high standards of safety reliability and availability Provide technical input related to area of expertise to other disciplines and functions as per requirements to support overall business objectives Supervise and ensure effective completion of activities undertaken by contractors consultants and service providers Guide less experienced engineers in implementing the company integrity and reliability systems Support and facilitate smooth completion of project tie-in requirements for all systems under the area of responsibility Maintain Issue Register identifying and resolving critical issues including new technology risks under area of responsibility which could impact new project Reliability Availability and Cyber Security Prepares discipline handover packages for operating company following startup Support high risk commissioning activities for high complexities & large-scale projects by

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent 6 years' experience in an oil and gas environment Able to work and make decisions under highly stressing conditions. Fluent in written and spoken English. Strong leadership & people skills. Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office and technical applications. Control Engineer-level of competence as per Control Engineering Technical Competencies.
