Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking a Senior Resident Engineer/Construction Manager with 15+ years of experience to lead the consultant site supervision team on data center projects in Qatar. You will oversee civil, MEP, and ELV works, ensuring conformance with drawings, specs, and regulatory requirements.

You will coordinate with clients, authorities and vendors, review submissions and methods, and lead risk-based decisions to maintain schedules and quality across complex, mission-critical installations.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• UPDA/MMUP Grade A Data Center Experience required; at least 1 project delivered in last 5 years.
• 15+ years of site supervision and construction management on large-scale, MEP-intensive or mission-critical projects.
• Experience leading site teams, coordinating disciplines, managing inspections and escalating quality/interface issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the consultant site supervision team for data center construction projects.
• Monitor civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) and ELV works for compliance with drawings/specifications.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, authorities, designers and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
• Review contractor submissions, method statements, shop drawings, material approvals and work procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify quality, safety, and progress.
• Monitor project schedules and milestones; identify risks and recommend actions.
• Ensure mission-critical systems (power, cooling, fire protection, ICT) meet design/operation requirements.
• Lead multidisciplinary coordination meetings and resolve technical/interface issues.
• Review testing, commissioning, IST and handover activities.
• Ensure compliance with contractual/regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Monitor contractor performance, resources, productivity, and schedules.
• Prepare progress reports, risk assessments, quality observations and updates for senior management.
• Escalate critical issues impacting project delivery; support snagging and handover.

Responsible for ensuring successful project delivery through effective site leadership, quality assurance, stakeholder coordination, and construction management while maintaining compliance with client, consultant, and regulatory requirements.

Your role

• Monitor and oversee civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and ELV works to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, authorities, designers, and specialist vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
• Review contractor submissions, method statements, shop drawings, material approvals, and work procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify quality, safety, and progress against project requirements.
• Monitor project schedules and construction milestones, identifying risks and recommending corrective actions where necessary.

• Review testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing (IST), and handover activities.

• Prepare and present progress reports, risk assessments, quality observations, and project updates to senior management and clients.
• Escalate critical quality, safety, and interface issues that may impact project delivery.
• Support final inspections, snagging, punch-list closeout, and project handover documentation.
• Mentor and manage resident engineers, inspectors, and discipline leads to ensure consistent supervision standards.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or equivalent. UPDA/MMUP Grade A Data Center Experience [at least 1 project is delivered in the last 5 years] Mandatory. 15+ years Experiences. Site supervision and construction management on large-scale, MEP-intensive or mission-critical projects; leading site teams, coordinating disciplines, managing inspections, monitoring progress and escalating quality/interface issues.
