Job summary

Madre Integrated Engineering is seeking a skilled steelmaking operator for full-time work in Doha, Qatar. The role involves following supervisor instructions, using required materials and tools, and ensuring safe, compliant operation of ladle and melt shop equipment.

The candidate should have a technical diploma or equivalent, with at least 3 years in steel making. Responsibilities include maintaining SOP-compliant conditions and coordinating with maintenance teams to prevent downtime.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Steel Making plant and process operation.
• General knowledge of Steel Melt shop processes.
• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of safety, environment and quality procedures and standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documents.

Responsibilities

• Follow supervisor instructions and use materials and tools to complete tasks.
• Inspect ladle refractory condition and mechanisms as per SOP.
• Maintain temp and shell readings per SOP standards.
• Prepare and inspect ladle, tundish and related systems for operation.
• Communicate with production/maintenance to execute maintenance plans.
• Perform overtime, standby and call-out duties as required.

Job description

Madre Integrated Engineering | Full time

• Follows and implements verbal or written instructions from his supervisor and uses the necessary materials and tools to execute the required work.
• Check and ensure the availability of consumable refractory materials required.
• Clean metal from ladle lips, shell, slide plate bore, nozzles, and porous plug using an oxygen lance. Clean slag jam from ladle lip, shell with the help of cleaning tolls and hand tools. Ladle / steel pot / slag pot slag cutting /cleaning.
• Prepare new / circulation / standby ladies to resume into operation by physical inspection as per SOP standards.
• Check & inspect all ladle refractory condition and mechanism condition and IPV purging pressure condition, steel passage nozzle free open condition.
• Physically monitor the ladle inside temperature and shell temperature as per SOP standards
• Replace / repair all refractory materials / mechanism based on the SOP.
• Fix and check that refractories and mechanisms are in good seal, lock in position during new fixing or replacement or before sending to next heat on day-to-day basis.
• Ensure that ladle is suitable for EAF tapping. Fill the nozzle filling compound in LV11 system as per work standards. Do maintenance of fluid control in ladle and tundish and auto purging mechanism at workshop in offline area to keep it ready for operation requirements.
• Ensure all operating, safety, environment, and quality procedures are followed.
• Communicate with production and/or maintenance personnel to execute the maintenance plans
• Perform overtime, standby and call out duty (when required)

• Technical Diploma or Higher Secondary Education from regular college/University.

Experience and requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Steel Making plant and process operation [Mandatory] in same job profile
• General knowledge of Steel Melt shop processes
• Specialist skills and knowledge in own area plus general knowledge and understanding whole Section
• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of safety, environment and quality procedures and standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documents.
