Job summary

Madre Integrated Engineering in Doha is seeking a skilled Mechanical Repairman to execute major shutdowns and routine maintenance across the plant. The role involves welding of structures, fabrication work at the workshop, and on-site repairs with strict adherence to safety protocols.

Candidates must have a Technical Diploma/ITI in Mechanical or Welding, with 3+ years of relevant experience, proficiency reading drawings, and a strong ability to use lifting tools and cranes during complex repairs.

Responsibilities

• Execute major shutdown and monthly shutdown activities within the maintenance window.
• Handle metal fixture assembly and welding of structures across the plant area.
• Repair structures on-site and fit liners; perform fabrication at workshop.
• Participate in all plant shutdown activities and routine machine-tool inspections.
• Attend plant troubles promptly and adhere to safe working practices.

• Executing the Major Shutdown activities & Monthly shutdown activities efficiently within the scheduled maintenance window.
• Handle the metal fixture assembly and welding of structure in entire plant area.
• Carrying out repair of structure at site and fitment of liners Fabrication work at workshop.
• Involving in all plant shutdown activities.
• Carryout routine Inspection and Checking of Machine Tools.
• Attend any plant troubles / abnormalities promptly
• Adhere and maintain safe working practices and procedures.
• Perform overtime, stand by and call out duty (when required).
• Write the log on daily basis.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Technical Diploma / ITI in (Mechanical/Welding) from Reputed College/Institute or NCVT Certificate on Welder / Fitter Trade.

Experience and requirements

• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience as mechanical repair man involving fabrication & Repair activity.
• Ability to read Drawings with all recognized international standards and fabricate and install the items accordingly.
• Welding certification requirements to the tune of 6G welding positions.
• Capable enough to perform TIG Welding + SMAW
• Capable enough to perform SMAW + FCAW
• Ability to identify the material and corresponding welding rods.
• Capable enough to weld Copper, Aluminum, and CS etc.
• Capable of performing air carbon arc gouging.
• Knowledge of using Lifting tools and tackles.
• Capable of operating a pendant crane safely and efficiently.
• Should have knowledge of safe lifting, rigging, and slinging practices.
• Knowledge of Slinging & Rigging.
• Knowledge of Safely Procedures and Standards.
