Job summary

Qatar Aircraft Catering Company (QACC) within Qatar Airways Group seeks a Quality Assurance Team Leader to oversee food safety, quality and hygiene standards. You will coordinate QA checks, support inspections and audits, and promote GMP/HACCP compliance while developing supervisory capabilities across the operation.

Minimum high school qualification with 3 years of related experience; preferred experience in multinational or international flight catering environments.

About the Role

The Quality Assurance Team Leader supports the implementation and monitoring of food safety, quality, and hygiene standards in QACC. The role assists in ensuring that food production, handling, storage, and dispatch activities comply with company procedures, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards. The position coordinates routine QA checks, supports inspections and audits, promotes Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP compliance, and helps maintain high standards of food safety and product quality while developing supervisory and leadership capabilities within the operation, keeping key accountability of the enhancement of Food Safety Culture.

Specific Responsibilities

• Support daily quality assurance and food safety operations across production, dispatch, and storage areas, ensuring compliance with HACCP, GMP, GHP, allergen control, and hygiene standards throughout all processes.
• Conduct routine inspections of food preparation areas, equipment, utensils, and employee hygiene practices to align with organizational standards.
• Perform and document quality checks for raw materials, in-process production, finished products, and dispatches.
• Ensure temperature monitoring and recording for food storage, cooking, chilling, and transportation processes are completed accurately.
• Assist in maintaining QA documentation, records, checklists, and traceability systems in line with company and customer requirements.
• Report non-conformities, food safety risks, and quality deviations to the QA management team and support corrective actions.
• Support internal audits, customer inspections, and regulatory audits by preparing records and ensuring operational readiness.
• Coordinate with production, warehouse, and operation teams to maintain food safety and quality standards.
• Support training and awareness activities related to food safety, personal hygiene, and quality procedures for operational staff.
• Monitor pest control, sanitation, and cleaning activities to ensure compliance with established standards.
• Assist in investigating customer complaints, operational incidents, and quality-related issues.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, food safety awareness, and compliance within the department.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, occupational health & safety requirements, and aviation catering standards.
• Support environmental sustainability initiatives by promoting waste reduction, resource conservation, and recycling practices in line with environmental sustainability requirements.
• Support business continuity planning activities by assisting in the implementation of contingency procedures and ensuring operational readiness during disruptions or emergencies.
• Perform other department duties related to the position as directed by the Head of the Department.
• Promote and support the enhancement of food safety culture across the operation.

Qualification

Minimum high school qualification with 3 years of job-related experience.

Preferred: Experience in multinational organizations or international flight catering companies.
