Job summary

Salam Industries is seeking a QS Estimator for on-site work in Doha to prepare accurate cost estimates and BOQs for interior decoration and fit-out projects. Daily you review drawings and specs, measure quantities, source supplier quotations, and produce detailed BOQs.

You coordinate with project managers, designers, and procurement to keep estimates aligned with design intent, budgets and schedules, while supporting tendering, value engineering, and cost control and maintaining pricing

Qualifications

• Strong skills in quantity take-off, cost estimation, and BOQ preparation for interior decoration and fit-out projects.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and interior design drawings, specifications, and project documents.
• Experience in tendering processes, including pricing, bid preparation, and coordination with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Competence with estimating and QS software, Microsoft Excel, and other relevant digital tools.
• Knowledge of construction materials, finishes, and methods related to interior fit-out, as well as local market rates.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related construction discipline.
• Previous experience as a QS or Estimator in interior fit-out or construction, preferably within the Gulf region.
• Ability to work on-site in Doha, manage multiple deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced project environment.

Role Description

The QS Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Doha, Qatar, responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and quantity take-offs for interior decoration and fit-out projects. Daily activities include reviewing drawings and specifications, measuring quantities, sourcing and analyzing supplier and subcontractor quotations, and preparing detailed BOQs and cost breakdowns. The role involves coordinating with project managers, designers, and procurement teams to ensure estimates align with design intent, budgets, and project timelines. The QS Estimator will support tender preparation, value engineering, and cost control during project execution, and maintain updated cost databases and pricing records. The position requires close attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and effective communication with internal stakeholders and external partners.
