Job summary

istep technology invites applications for Project E/I Inspector roles in the Gulf region, focusing on LNG and oil & gas facilities. This position requires a degree or diploma in electrical engineering with relevant trade certificates and strong QA/QC experience.

The ideal candidate will be fluent in English, capable of preparing comprehensive inspection reports, and will engage effectively with contractors and third parties while ensuring adherence to project specifications and QA procedures.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in electrical engineering with trade certificates.
• Experience: 8+ years (degree) or 12+ years (diploma) as inspection personnel for Oil & Gas.
• Familiar with IEC/NEC/NFPA/BS/NEMA/NETA/ATEX standards.
• Fluent in English; capable of preparing inspection reports and using MS Office.

• Interpret the suitability of products against specification requirements.
• Prepare inspection reports and coordinate with QA/QC inspection activities.

• Degree or diploma in electrical Engineering, or suitable equivalent plus Trade Certificates in Electrical and/ or Instrumentation.
• Familiar with electrical and instrumentation specific codes and standards (e.g. IEC, NEC, NFPA, BS, NEMA, NETA, ATEX/ IECEX-60079. etc.).
• Familiar with quality assurance principles and practices.
• Minimum 8 years For Degree Holders or 12 years for Diploma Holders of working experience as inspection personnel for Oil & Gas projects, preferably in LNG (Greenfield, Brownfield and Shutdowns)
• Experience in inspection activities during procurement, fabrication, installation and hook-up, and commissioning of oil and gas production facilities projects.
• Fluent in both spoken and written English.
• Should be able to prepare inspection reports, and work with computer applications like MS Word, Excel, Power point and Outlook (for email).

Job Describtion:-

Tasks and duties include the following, but not limited to

• The purpose of the E&I QC Inspector is to interpret the suitability of products and processes against the designated specification requirements at scheduled and ad-hoc intervals.
• The selected candidate shall be competent and capable of successfully carrying out the tasks and duties outlined below.
• The candidate shall be Familiar with IEC, NEC, NFPA, BS, NEMA, NETA etc. Codes/ Standards and shall undertake evaluation, calculation to provide competent technical reviews, audits and advise for any matter pertaining to QA/QC inspection activities
• Engage contractors and applicable third-party organisations with a professional approach and maintain a good working level relationship.
• Fully conversant with Qatargas discipline specific, facility related technical specification requirements.
• Review contractors documented quality deliverables in accordance with the requirements and expectations of Qatargas and provide clear, concise output to the applicable quality focal point.
• Familiar with Electrical systems such as LV and MV equipment’s, motors, transformers, switchgears, PDBs, CTs, Relays, UPS, battery bank, lighting fixtures, receptacles and small power panels
• Familiar with Instrumentation and control systems such as DCS, ESD, instruments and transmitters like pressure, Diff pressure, level, flow, RTD & thermocouples with thermowells, gauges, analysers and instrument tubing etc.
• Familiar with fire & gas, PAGA & telecom systems devices and equipment’s
• Continuously monitor the quality of works in progress at site and other work locations against the applicable Qatargas technical specifications.

• Ensure that contractor processes and procedures are properly and effectively implemented.
• Perform material/ equipment site receipt inspection with additional visual and dimensional examination (where practical) to confirm suitability and fit for purpose.
• Perform site installation, testing, calibration inspections to confirm product and process quality in line with established quality and technical documents.
• Ensure that the latest revision of project quality documentation is available and that records of product and process conformance are maintained in accordance with the document and record control requirements.
• Prepare a daily report summarising the salient inspection points and quality concerns and coordinate directly with the assigned quality focal point regarding any significant issues identified.
• Manage and participate in site quality verification activities (i.e. Quality Walkabout and Surveillance) and document results using the applicable inspection report template.
• Record and facilitate the follow-up of product related non-conformance results.
• Recommend topics to be covered during the annual quality training program and prepare discipline quality specific training material when requested by the quality focal point.
• Act as the ‘eyes and ears’ of Qatargas project management team to ensure that quality requirements and expectations are fully satisfied.
• Familiar with the Qatargas company health, safety and environment requirements and ensure that they are adhered to during project activities
