Job summary

Employment is seeking an accomplished Project Controls Director to lead and oversee project controls across a portfolio of large-scale developments in Qatar. The role focuses on planning, scheduling, cost control, risk management, reporting, and performance monitoring throughout the project lifecycle.

The candidate should have 15+ years in Project Controls with at least 5 years in leadership and a strong track record on mega projects, mixed-use developments, hospitality or infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Master's degree is an advantage.
• Certifications such as PMP/PSP/AACE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Project Controls function across multiple projects and business units.
• Establish and maintain project controls policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
• Oversee planning, scheduling, cost control, progress measurement, risk management and reporting activities.
• Monitor performance against baselines and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop executive dashboards, KPIs, and performance reports.
• Ensure integration between planning, cost, commercial, procurement, and construction teams.
• Lead forecasting, budget monitoring and change management processes; identify risks and opportunities and support mitigation.
• Provide strategic advice to senior management regarding project performance and delivery.
• Build and mentor high-performing project controls teams.

We are looking for an accomplished Project Controls Director to lead and oversee all project controls functions across a portfolio of large-scale developments, ensuring effective planning, scheduling, cost control, risk management, reporting, and performance monitoring throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing project controls on complex, multi-billion-dollar projects and driving successful project delivery through robust governance and performance management frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Project Controls function across multiple projects and business units.
• Establish and maintain project controls policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
• Oversee project planning, scheduling, cost control, progress measurement, risk management, and reporting activities.
• Monitor project performance against approved baselines and recommend corrective actions where required.
• Develop executive-level dashboards, KPIs, and performance reports.
• Ensure effective integration between planning, cost, commercial, procurement, and construction teams.
• Lead project forecasting, budget monitoring, and change management processes.Identify project risks and opportunities and support mitigation strategies.
• Provide strategic advice to senior management regarding project performance and delivery.
• Build and mentor high-performing project controls teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
• Master's Degree is an advantage.
• PMP, PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional), AACE, or equivalent certifications preferred.
• Minimum 15+ years of experience in Project Controls, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience on mega projects, mixed-use developments, hospitality, infrastructure, real estate, or large-scale construction projects.
• Strong expertise in planning, scheduling, cost management, earned value management (EVM), risk management, and project reporting.
• Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6, Power BI, and project controls systems.
• Experience managing project controls teams across multiple projects.
• Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
