Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking a Process Engineering Specialist for an onshore LNG/Gas Processing Facility in Qatar. The role supports project execution, commissioning, start-up, and operations readiness with a focus on safety, reliability, and efficiency.

The candidate will lead process engineering activities, participate in safety studies, develop procedures, and optimize plant performance while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in oil & gas, LNG, petrochemical, or process industries.
• Strong knowledge of gas processing, LNG operations, utilities, and process safety management.
• Experience supporting commissioning, start-up, or brownfield/greenfield projects.
• Familiarity with HAZOP, HAZID, SIL studies, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Provide process engineering support during project execution, commissioning, start-up, and handover phases.
• Participate in process safety studies including HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, FRA, RCFA, and reliability reviews.
• Support development and review of operating procedures for new facilities and systems.
• Develop and implement process monitoring and surveillance tools to optimize plant performance.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and provide engineering recommendations to improve reliability and production.
• Participate in system walkdowns, commissioning, and start-up activities.
• Maintain and track critical technical issues, risks, and performance gaps until closure.
• Support project tie-ins, plant modifications, and operational readiness activities.
• Provide technical guidance to multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, quality, and operational standards.

Work Schedule: 8-10 hours per day from Sunday to Thursday

12 Weeks ON / 2 Weeks OFF (for Single Status)

30 days annually (for Couple Status)

Job Purpose

Provide process engineering expertise to support project execution, commissioning, start-up, and operations readiness activities. Ensure new facilities are designed, commissioned, and handed over safely, reliably, and efficiently while meeting operational, maintenance, and production requirements.
