Job summary

Saipem in Doha, Qatar is seeking a Piping Flexibility Engineer to join the Engineering Fixed Facilities Department. You will report to the Piping and Layout Manager and coordinate activities across internal and external teams.

You will ensure proper stress analysis, bid evaluations for piping supports, and accurate piping budgets, while maintaining QA/QC and HSE compliance throughout FEED, EPC and execution stages.

Qualifications

• Education: Diploma or Degree in Piping, Offshore, or Pipeline Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 8 years offshore experience.
• At least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical activities inside or outside Saipem.
• Ensure stress analysis design of piping networks at technical and cost level in all project stages (proposal, FEED or EPC) up to site management of piping material.
• Issue material requisition (technical supply specification) and perform Technical Bid Evaluation for piping supports components.
• Refer to project Piping and Layout Lead for project activities and to piping flexibility team lead for technical solution.
• Review QA/QC and HSE compliance across all tasks.

Purpose Of The Position

As Piping Flexibility Engineer, you will respond to the Piping and Layout Manager and be part of Saipem Qatar within Engineering Fixed Facilities Department.

How can you support us? Here below your responsibilities:

Mission.

• Coordinate technical activities performed inside or outside Saipem
• Ensure good stress analysis design of piping networks both at technical and cost level in all project stage, either proposal, FEED or EPC up to site management of the piping material
• Issue material requisition (technical supply specification) and perform Technical Bid Evaluation for piping supports components
• Refer to project Piping and Layout Lead for project activities, to piping flexibility team leader and to Layout and Piping dept for technical solution and improvement

Tasks.

The Engineer executes the activities within his area of responsibility, ensuring the compliance with the QA/QC and HSE requirements.

Tasks Include

• Execute the activities within own area of responsibility, ensuring the compliance with the QA/QC and HSE requirements A-Development Technology know-how and Commercial support Provide technical support B-Feasibility Provide technical support C-Bidding phase / Commercial proposal development Analyse and understand Tender documentation Perform preliminary calculations of critical piping networks Issue of Purchase Requisition for Market Investigation and perform technical bid comparison Elaborate Piping Mechanical Quantity (quantity to be installed) and Piping Budget Quantity (quantity to be purchased) Support to define engineering hours D-Project Execution Set-up of software to be used Be responsible for the quality, respect of budget and respect of project schedule for piping flexibility analysis tasks Review the Client technical documentation and requirements Be responsible for the design of all piping supports components Issue project Stress analysis and Piping Support specification Identify critical lines (to be added in project line list or dedicated critical line list) Perform calculations of critical piping networks Issue loads to allow the design of pipe-rack and foundations Issue technical specification for requisition of all piping support components Issue technical bid evaluation for all piping supports components offers Review and approve vendors documents Plan Purchase Requisition issue according to project schedule, managing the whole cycle including Material Requisition (by Piping Material Engineer), Technical Enquiry Package, Purchase Requisition, Technical Bid Evaluation (by Piping Material Engineer) Issue Purchase Requisition Attach technical docs into SAP Maintain project technical files and update Company standards Review activities/deliverable produced by engineering subcontractors Check the isometrics for construction of critical lines
• Capitalize piping flexibility activities performed during the project Perform piping support material feasibility E-Construction and start-up Provide technical support Assist, when necessary, engineering adjustment on site F-Home Office activities When coordinate, provide input to discipline leads and other Piping Flexibility Engineers to harmonize design and methodologies Provide support to projects and procurements to solve non standards problems Define the modification of department workflow and technical standards Participate to the modification of company workflow and technical standards Collect project feedbacks for continuous improvement implementation (Lesson Learned) Participate to vendor and outsourcing qualification Participate to project/company procurement strategy (Purchasing team) Develop and scout tools for design activities enhancemen

What are we looking for?

• Education: Diploma or Degree in Piping, Offshore, or Pipeline Engineering (or equivalent).
• Background: Minimum 8 years of offshore experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Languages: Strong communication skills in English.

Technical Skills / Knowledge With

• Offshore experience is a must
• EPC Experience

• In-depth knowledge of DNV-ST-F101, API standards, and other relevant international codes.
• Familiarity with QE LNG project specifications and offshore operating practices highly preferred.

IT Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
