Job summary

Saipem in Doha, Qatar is seeking a Senior Piping & Layout Engineer to support the COMP3 project within Engineering Fixed Facilities. You will report to the Piping & Layout Lead and drive feasibility, bidding, and project execution activities across offshore and onshore EPC contexts.

The role requires a Master’s Degree in Engineering and 5–10 years of piping and layout experience, with fluent English. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and MS Project is expected, and you will participate in

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of Piping & Layout engineering experience.
• Proficient in English; able to communicate with project teams.
• Strong knowledge of Office tools and MS Project for planning.

• Develop technology know-how and provide commercial support.

Purpose Of The Position

As Piping & Layout Engineer, you will respond to the Piping & Layout Lead and be part of the COMP3 project within Engineering Fixed Facilities Department.

How can you support us? Here below your responsibilities:

Execute the activities within own area of responsibility, ensuring the compliance with the QA/QC and HSE requirements.

Tasks Include

• A - Development Technology know how and Commercial support
• B - Feasibility
• C - Bidding phase / Commercial proposal development
  • Bill of material
  • Plot plan lay out proposal
  • Support lead to define man hour and cost estimate
• D - Project Execution
  • E nsure the Piping and Layout engineering support to different projects
  • Ensure the achievement of assigned goals and the fulfilment of project quality requirements and contractual obligations
  • Analyse technical documents (e.g. specifications, calculation notes, drawings) to assess the scope of the studies required and the potential risks
  • Seek solutions which can bring overall savings to the project
  • Estimate quantities or validate estimation done by other specialist of the team
  • Check all produced documents (internal or subcontracted) like design reports, technical specifications, drawings under responsibility
  • Write the Piping and Layout methodologies / Design Premises comprehensive of all necessary data, general and specific design guidelines
  • Analyse project technical documents to validate consistency between the budget, resources and means allocated for the work completion and the targets to be met
  • Organize the work of the team under responsibility
  • Define and follow-up the planning of resources mobilization
  • Monitor and report actual progress including 3D / check for Discipline activities, including control of men-hours and delivered documents
  • Control the input data for team activities and check/review all documents issued by the team
  • Attend to internal review activities and inter-discipline check meetings
  • Provide technical support to Project group
  • Provide technical support to Procurement, Subcontracting and Construction activities included in the scope of work
  • Supervise the writing of specifications and requisitions as well as technical bid evaluations
  • Inform on a permanent basis the Project Piping and Layout leader of any foreseen technical or financial or delay risk
  • Feed the Piping and Layout Department improvement system by reverting the lessons learned during the project
• E - Construction and start up
  • Participate to test circuit verification
  • Field engineering during construction activities
  • Assist, when necessary, engineering adjustment on site
  • Material management at site

What are we looking for?

Education: Master’s Degree in Engineering

Experience: Minimum 5-10 years in Piping and Layout engineering

Languages: Proficient in English

Technical Skills / Knowledge with:Operation follow up / offshore & onshore EPC experience Perform technical tasks assigned by the Piping and Layout Lead, related with design, verification or study activities Interface with other Project Specialists, Designers and Draftsman Co-ordinate technical activities performed inside or outside Saipem IT Skills:Office package (including Microsoft Project) Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
