Job summary

SFAI QATAR -Santa Fe Associates seeks a Field Operations Operator to supervise field staff and oversee daily plant operations at the water treatment site in Doha. You will collect and verify process data, ensure compliance with O&M plans, and support calibration and maintenance tasks to sustain plant performance.

The role involves coordinating with utilities on flow changes, performing routine lab testing, and maintaining QA procedures to ensure safe, reliable water supply.

Qualifications

• Technical trade, scientific or engineering qualifications or skills.
• Hands-on experience in water industry or related field preferred.
• Ability to make decisions on availability and quality of water supply.
• Ability to work under pressure for extended periods.
• Reliable team member with leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Field Operator's work.
• Collect operational data and ensure accuracy.
• Ensure plant meets standards in O&M plans.
• Conduct plant operations including process control lab testing and calibration.
• Perform maintenance duties such as cleaning and lubrication.
• Order chemicals and verify deliveries within budget.
• Liaise with Qatar Electricity & Water Company on flow changes and equipment status.
• Maintain QA procedures and site instructions.

Job description

Requirement - Report to Chief Operator or Operations Manager as direct supervisor

• Supervise Field Operator s work
• Collect operational data in forms and be accountable for the accuracy of the collected data
• Ensure the plant performs to and achieves the required quantitative and qualitative standards set out in the Operation and Maintenance Plans
• Conduct all aspects of plant operations including process control laboratory testing as required calibration of instrumentation and maintenance of process equipment and other assets
• Initiate and implement decisions relating to the treatment and processes in consultation with the Operations Manager whilst complying with the legislation regulations Company and site procedures or instructions as documented in the O amp M Management Plans
• Perform maintenance duties as required such as cleaning painting and lubrication
• Order chemicals receive deliveries to site and verify documentation quantities quality etc within budgetary guidelines
• Liaise with Qatar Electricity amp Water Company Q S C as necessary on flow changes and on the status of the Plant and equipment
• Maintain QA procedures and site instructions and recommend improvements as appropriate

Experience and Education

• Technical trade scientific or engineering qualifications or skills supported by reasonable hands-on experience in the water industry or a related industry
• Be enthusiastic and dedicated with high levels of initiative and drive
• Possess a high level of maturity with the ability to make decisions relating to the availability and quality of the public water supply
• Possess sound judgment in relation to operational issues
• Be able to work under pressure for extended periods
• Be flexible with the ability to adapt to change and rapidly apply new knowledge
