Job summary

AECOM in Doha, Qatar is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Resident Engineer to join our on-site team. You will supervise construction activities, ensure quality and safety compliance, and coordinate with senior engineers and contractors to maintain project standards and schedules.

Responsibilities include conducting inspections, preparing supervision reports, reviewing technical submissions, and supporting coordination with design offices and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of relevant site supervision experience (5+ years with diploma).
• Knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and industry standards.
• Strong understanding of contractual issues in construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Excellent written and verbal English; Arabic fluency is essential for Doha.
• Proactive, independent worker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
• Experience with site documentation, reporting, and record-keeping.
• Willingness to conduct factory inspections and off-site material verification.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with multiple project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor on-site work quality, progress, and schedules.
• Conduct regular inspections to verify compliance with plans, methods, and safety.
• Ensure site safety measures align with supervision plans and regulations.
• Prepare supervision reports noting non-conformities and corrective actions.
• Review contractor submissions such as technical docs and material certifications.
• Monitor contractor technical staff performance and provide feedback.
• Attend site and coordination meetings to report progress.
• Coordinate with design office and stakeholders to resolve site issues.
• Conduct factory inspections and verify materials as required.
• Maintain organized records of site activities and communications.
