Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to oversee material procurement for a major Oil & Gas restoration project in Qatar. The role emphasizes timely, cost‑effective sourcing in line with contracts and approved procedures, coordinating with project teams to align procurement with schedules.

You will manage long‑lead items, tendering, bid evaluation and contract administration, monitor progress and costs, and ensure compliance with procurement plans and vendor performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in a business-related function, including at least 4 years in Oil & Gas.
• Demonstrable understanding of procurement best practices.
• In-depth knowledge of oil & gas procurement market and key vendors.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Advanced computer literacy.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with project teams to establish procurement requirements, objectives and priorities.
• Support identification and procurement of Long Lead Items (LLI), including tendering, bid evaluation and contract administration.
• Develop and maintain Procurement Plans covering long-lead items, spare parts and bulk materials.
• Monitor procurement progress, schedules and costs, identifying issues and supporting mitigation plans.
• Monitor Contractor procurement activities and ensure compliance with approved procedures and contract requirements.
• Review Contractor purchasing and contracting documents for compliance with project requirements.
• Support effective materials management and coordinate spare parts procurement.
• Monitor Contractor expediting activities and report potential delays in material delivery.
• Coordinate with EPC Contractors, suppliers, Engineering, Quality and Construction teams.
• Support fabrication priorities and supplier coordination to maintain project schedules.
