Job summary

Alftek in Doha seeks a Senior Data Governance & Classification Specialist to provide technical and strategic advisory services to government entities, building data asset registers and implementing classification policies.

You will design guidelines and toolkits for government staff to classify data, measure compliance with national policies, and lead initiatives to assess cybersecurity risks while aligning policies with data protection laws and sovereignty requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or MIS.
• Master’s or PhD in Data Governance or Public Cybersecurity Policy preferred.
• CDMP – Advanced level
• CGEIT (Governance of Enterprise IT)
• CISA (Information Systems Auditor)
• Minimum 10 years in data governance and security.
• At least 4 years on regulatory frameworks, national policies, or government consulting.
• Arabic language preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and strategic advisory services to government entities to build data asset registers and implement classification policies.
• Design guidelines and toolkits to enable government employees to classify data independently and efficiently.
• Measure compliance with national data classification policies and submit periodic performance reports to decision-makers.
• Lead national initiatives to assess cybersecurity risks from improper classification of sensitive data at the state level.
• Ensure alignment of entities’ policies with national data protection and privacy legislation, and identify data sovereignty requirements.
• Evaluate global data classification solutions and provide recommendations for national infrastructure.
• Organize national workshops and conferences to transfer knowledge and discuss challenges in implementing data classification projects.
