Gender seeks a Senior Data Governance & Classification Specialist to guide government entities in building data asset registers, implementing classification policies, and ensuring compliance with national data protection laws. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or MIS. Master’s/PhD in Data Governance or Public Cybersecurity Policy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide advisory services to government entities to build data asset registers and implement classification policies.
• Design guidelines and toolkits for government staff to classify data independently and efficiently.
• Measure compliance with national data classification policies and report to decision-makers.
• Lead national initiatives to assess cybersecurity risks from improper data classification.
• Align entity policies with national data protection and privacy laws; identify data sovereignty requirements.
• Evaluate global data classification tools and recommend those suited to national infrastructure.
• Organize national workshops and conferences to discuss challenges in implementing data classification projects.
