Job summary

Nord Anglia Education is recruiting a MYP Language & Literature Teacher (English) for Etqan Global Academy (EGA) in Doha, Qatar. The role focuses on planning and delivering IB MYP aligned lessons, developing reading, writing and critical thinking, and using inquiry-based approaches.

The successful candidate will have a recognised teaching qualification and a degree in English, with IB MYP experience and a commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing within a supportive school community.

Qualifications

• Recognised teaching qualification and degree in English or related subject.
• Experience teaching Language & Literature in an IB MYP school preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IB MYP Language & Literature curriculum and assessment criteria.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality Language & Literature lessons aligned with IB MYP and global contexts.
• Design inquiry-based learning experiences to develop reading, writing, thinking and communication skills.
• Assess student work using MYP criteria and provide constructive feedback.
• Create units of inquiry around language, literature, global contexts and intercultural perspectives.
• Embed ATL skills and foster a love of reading and language.
• Support students' preparation for MYP eAssessment in Language & Literature.
• Fulfill Form Tutor responsibilities and contribute to pastoral life of the school.
• Collaborate with English department and wider EGA community.

Nord Anglia Education is looking to recruit a MYP Language & Literature Teacher (English) to join Etqan Global Academy (EGA) in Doha, Qatar.

Etqan Global Academy (EGA) is a newly established IB World School in Doha, Qatar, offering the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). We are looking for a talented and passionate MYP Language & Literature Teacher to inspire our students to become confident, critical readers, writers and communicators within the IB MYP framework.

The role:

We seek an individual to join as MYP Language & Literature Teacher (English) where your focus will be:

• Planning and delivering high-quality, concept-driven Language & Literature lessons aligned with the IB MYP curriculum and global contexts
• Designing engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences that develop reading, writing, critical thinking and communication skills
• Assessing student work using MYP Language & Literature criteria and providing meaningful, constructive feedback
• Creating units of inquiry that explore language, literature, global contexts and intercultural perspectives
• Embedding ATL skills and a genuine love of reading and language throughout all aspects of teaching
• Supporting students' preparation for MYP e Assessment in Language & Literature
• Fulfilling Form Tutor responsibilities and contributing to the pastoral life of the school
• Contributing positively to the English department and the wider EGA school community

The Successful Candidate will possess:

• A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, B. Ed or equivalent) and a degree in English, Language & Literature or a related subject
• Proven experience teaching Language & Literature or English in an IB MYP school
• Strong knowledge of the MYP Language & Literature curriculum, assessment criteria and e Assessment
• Excellent literacy skills and a genuine passion for language and literature
• Ability to design and deliver concept-driven, inquiry-based and differentiated lessons
• Effective classroom management and communication skills
• A commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
• IB MYP workshop training in Language & Literature desirable; international school experience desirable
