Job summary

Client of Brunel is seeking a Planning Engineer to lead daily maintenance planning in a heavy industry context. You will forecast resources, prepare detailed work packs, and ensure right-first-time execution while maximizing equipment reliability.

You will work with SAP Maintenance (S/4HANA) modules, manage master data, spares, and procurement, and report progress weekly. A mechanical/electrical/instrumentation background with 5+ years in Oil & Gas is preferred.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with SAP Maintenance module and SAP S4/HANA.
• 5+ years in Oil & Gas/Petrochemical or related industries.
• Strong planning and cost estimation skills for maintenance work.
• Experience creating and updating maintenance master data in ERP.

Responsibilities

• Routine maintenance planning; establish, maintain and improve maintenance plans.
• Prepare detailed activity breakdown with resource estimation (labor, materials, services).
• Prepare work packs for each work order and coordinate plan reviews.
• Manage spares, materials, procurement coordination and inventory feedback.
• Provide weekly/monthly progress reports and KPI data.
• Support annual look-ahead planning and cost optimization.

Job description

Prime responsibility for carrying out the planning of daily maintenance activities with primary responsibility to ensure right-first time job performance so that equipment reliability is maximized while improving maintenance tool time work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor and non-labor resources including materials and services The role is expected to be able to remove uncertainty to execute planning in a systematically efficient and economical way with forecasted maintenance job planning approach He or she should be able to independently develop cost and time estimates of planned maintenance work to meet budgets and schedules Planning Engineer shall have Competency and work experience in SAP Maintenance module preferably in SAP S4-HANA including order planning Purchase requisition service entry sheets call-off orders service orders Maintenance related Master data creation updating deletion etc

Routine maintenance job planning

Establish maintain and improve the Maintenance Plans within the area of responsibility Develop equipment preventive maintenance schedule Based on the daily new work request from production Planning engineer shall prepare detailed activity break up along with the estimation of required resources for the job i e internal and external manpower materials and services Preparing work pack for each work order Coordinate and review the work plan for assigned maintenance activities review and evaluate planned work methods procedures and oversee spare parts inventory

Contract Handling

Participate in maintenance contracts handling including scope development specifications initiating procurement process technical evaluation and provide support to superiors for management approval process as and when required Day to day coordination with contractors to supply manpower and or services based on requirement during daily work order planning Verify and process the invoices submitted by the contractor

Spares and Materials management

Communicate and Co-ordinate with end-users to ensure spares and materials are made available by Planning Engineers for scheduled activities Also provide feedback to MRP so that cost-effective replenishment levels are maintained Updating the item master including item specifications Bill of Material Spare Parts Criticality and new item codes in ERP as and when required Responsible for the Periodic Inventory review amp Changes in the buffer stock levels with the coordination of end-users Co-ordinate with Supply Chain department and Contractors for procurement of spares to ensure availability

Work Progress Reporting

Provide superiors with work status reports to enable effective monitoring of overall progress against agreed plans Provide the Maintenance key performance indicators data to superiors on weekly and monthly basis

Annual look ahead plan and cost optimization

Estimate the annual planning of major maintenance jobs pertaining to individual areas of responsibility and provide inputs to budgeting process Forecast the requirement of labor resources materials and services and initiate necessary procurement actions to ensure that all resources are made available on time in order to achieve optimized maintenance cost Record keeping in CMMS computerized maintenance management system Good HSEQ health safety environment amp quality record in his past working Read understand and support execute the jobs as per standard operating procedure work instruction Comply with COMPANY Life Saving Rules as per PSa-001 Life Saving Rule Document Comply with all relevant procedures of COMPANY Integrated Management System comprising of Occupational Health and Safety Quality Environment Responsible Care IFA Product Stewardship amp energy Management System

Bachelor's Engineering degree (12+4 years).

Electrical -1no., Instrument -1 no.)* 05 years relevant experience in Oil & Gas/Petrochemical/Fertilizer industry and competency* * Hands-on experience of the Work order part of EAM (enterprise asset maintenance) module of SAP would be preferable. Competency and work experience in ERP - SAP, preferably in SAP S4-HANA including Competency and work experience in Maintenance related Master data creation, master data updating, master data deletion etc. in SAP.
