Job summary

Strategic Aerospace Services WLL in Doha, Qatar, is seeking a storage/tooling controller responsible for the acceptance, storage, release and disposal of tooling in the central toolstore. You will ensure accurate identification, registration and tracking of each tool with unique IDs and maintain documentation throughout handling and calibration processes.

The role requires strict adherence to tool control, calibration routines and stock management, with emphasis on correct labeling, conditioning

Responsibilities

• Manage acceptance, storage, release and disposal of tools in central storage area.
• Identify, record and monitor tooling/equipment with unique serial/ID numbers.
• Ensure tracking and documentation for each item, including condition, labeling and any required paperwork.
• Check incoming deliveries against orders with proper certification and documentation.
• Inspect, service and calibrate tools; notify leaders if calibration exceeds limits.
• Quarantine or dispose surplus tools and update tracking accordingly; log unserviceable tools.

• The post holder will undertake a range ofactivities in order to manage the acceptance, storage, release and disposal oftools into and out of central storage area.
• Responsible for ensuring appropriateidentification, recording and monitoring of tooling/equipment held in the toolstore. This will include the registration, following acceptance and inspection,of each tool by allocation of a unique serial/identification number.
• Ensure that tooling/equipment being used istracked and recorded including a statement of condition, labelling and anyother appropriate documentation for each item. Manage tool tallies or labels aspartof tool control.

• Check incoming deliveries against order/deliverydocumentation, ensuring that all items are accompanied with supportingcertification and maintenance/operation documentation as appropriate. Check allpackaging is fit for purpose with no damage to incoming items.
• Responsible for ensuring timely inspection,servicing and calibration of appropriate tools and equipment. Must notify GroupLeaders/Aircraft Team Leaders when calibration results are beyond acceptablelimits of original manufacturer.
• Ensure that surplus or redundanttooling/equipment is removed from maintenance environment and quarantined ordisposed. The tracking system must then be updated as necessary to reflect theaction taken. Shall place an unserviceable tool tally whenever an unserviceabletool has been discovered and removed from the tool store.

Requirements

• Requires general product knowledge of tooling types and competencywithin own technical/subject area and a basic knowledge of those elements inother areas. Awareness of how the service integrates with maintenance users inorder to achieve the levels of service defined by the tool store manager.
• Awareness of how the team integrates with others inorder to achieve the overall objectives of the area and demonstrates anunderstanding of the requirement for continuous improvement and itsapplication.
• Aware of personal limitations and skill boundaries.
• Be able to demonstrate general tooling knowledgeand the importance of tool control, calibration and stock managementprinciples.
