Job summary

Weatherford is seeking a hands-on R&M Technician in Doha, Qatar. You will inspect, repair and refurbish field tools, handling dismantling, cleaning and testing per manuals and work instructions.

Responsibilities include daily operations and safety meetings, maintaining equipment and work areas, repairing machinery with basic tools, recording work orders, handling shipments and parts, and supporting LEAN initiatives.

Qualifications

• 4–6+ years in R&M experience in Oil & Gas.
• Experience with impact tools: jars, shock subs, intensifier, fishing/downhole tools.
• Working with hazardous materials and NDT/DS inspection awareness.
• Strong reading/writing, judgement and time management.
• Fluent English, basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Participates in daily operations and safety meetings; reports issues using proper tools.
• Maintains equipment, facilities and work area in safe condition.
• Repairs machines and equipment using hammers, hoists, cranes, drills and measuring devices.
• Inspects parts with calipers, micrometers and similar tools.
• Follows maintenance processes including unloading, cleaning, testing, assembly and storage.
• Handles shipments, orders parts and supports LEAN initiatives.
• Performs other duties safely as assigned.

Tasks will span the entire process from receiving the tools, dismantling, repairing, and refurbishing using technical manuals, procedures, and technical work instructions.

The R&M Technician role undertakes hands‑on tasks and utilises Weatherford's facilities, equipment, machinery, and systems. The role applies techniques and practices to complete the scope of tasks covering inspection, repair, and maintenance of field tools, preparing them for their next assignment. Tasks will span the entire process from receiving the tools, dismantling, repairing, and refurbishing using technical manuals, procedures, and technical work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Participates in all daily operations & safety meetings, toolbox, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and reports any issues promptly using the appropriate tools
• Maintains equipment, facilities, and work area in a presentable and safe working condition
• Repairs machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, cranes, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices
• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, callipers, micrometres, or other measuring instruments.
• Follows maintenance processes & procedures to undertake the following: unloading, disassembly, cleaning, pressure testing, visual checking, painting, assembly, loading, and storage of tools, completing all necessary documentation as required against their level of training & competence
• Initiates, updates, closes out AIRTs, PFTs, forms, checklists, and work orders during maintenance of equipment and assets, following the necessary maintenance processes and procedures against their level of training & competence
• Complies with the WO labour time log by accurately clocking in/Out of the WO (Work Order) Time tracking system
• Utilises all tools and lifting equipment for opening and closing crates & containers and uses pallet and forklift trucks for the safe movement of equipment to and from vehicles, storage areas, racks, shelves, and bins against their level of training & competence. Must be certified for the use of lifting equipment, including forklift trucks and cranes
• Accepts incoming shipments and prepares shipments for dispatch, validating quantities and ensuring all necessary documentation is accurate and complies with all Company procedures against their level of training & competence, documented policies, procedures, work instructions and technical manuals allowing the R&M team to complete their work effectively and efficiently
• Order parts, supplies, or equipment from catalogues or approved suppliers according to Weatherford’s guidelines and procedures
• Supports and complies with the LEAN initiatives and participates in the continuous efficiency improvement program of the facility.
• Performs other duties and activities safely as assigned by supervisor within physical constraints of the job

Required

• 4-6+ years of R&M experience Oil & Gas industry.
• Experienced in Impact Tools such Jars, Shock Subs, Intensifier & Fishing Tools & Downhole Tools
• Working with hazardous materials
• Awareness of NDT and DS Inspection
• Ability to react effectively and efficiently in operating tools and machinery
• Good reading and writing skills, strong judgement and decision-making to be in line with policies & procedures
• Time management
• Quality Control Analysis to ensure product meets required standards
• Basic Computer skills
• Fluent English both written and verbal
