Job summary

Confidential Company is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Qatar to join its project teams. You will develop mechanical designs for HVAC, plumbing, drainage and firefighting systems based on project specs and codes, and coordinate with architects, structural and electrical teams.

Responsibilities include performing load calculations with HAP or equivalent, preparing drawings, BOQs, and design reports, and liaising with local authorities for approvals.

Qualifications

• <p>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.</p>
• <p>Experience with HVAC, plumbing, drainage and firefighting systems.</p>

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university

Registrations & Certifications

UPDA MMUP Certified Mechanical Engineer Grade A Mandatory QCDD ApprovedOther certification like NFPA ASHRAE LEED ESTIDAMA

Computer Software Proficiency

Proficient in AutoCAD Revit MEP and Microsoft Office Knowledge of design software such as HAP Elite Familiar with BIM coordination tools

Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefightingsystems based on project specifications and applicable codes.
• Perform load calculations using design software (HAP or equivalent) and determineequipment capacities and duct/piping sizes.
• Identify design and constructability issues and raise RFIs.
• Prepare design drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams for all mechanicalsystems in coordination with architectural and structural layouts.
• Review design drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with project andauthority standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, CIBSE).
• Select and specify HVAC and plumbing equipment including chillers, FAHUs, AHUs,FCUs, pumps, valves, and control devices.
• Prepare BOQs, technical specifications, and design reports.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, and other disciplines (electrical, civil, architectural)to resolve technical issues and ensure proper integration of services.
• Prepare shop drawings to ensure compliance with approved design intent and authorityrequirements.
• Liaise with local authorities (QCDD & Kahramaa, etc.) for design approvals, NOCs,and compliance verification.
• Able to identify the Value Engineering & cost saving opportunities.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings and ensure mechanical services are properlyrouted and clash-free.
• DESIGN ENGINEER MECHANICALSupport the QA/QC team in reviewing inspection and testing procedures from a designcompliance perspective.
• Ensure all designs are properly documented, updated, and controlled according to ISOquality procedures.
• Prepare as-built documentation and final design reports for project handover.
• Assist in commissioning plan preparation and system performance validation as perdesign criteria.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of authority regulations, energy efficiency requirements,and new design technologies.
