Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy in Qatar is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a Bachelor's Degree and at least 8 years of experience, including 5 years in Qatar. The role involves designing and developing mechanical systems, preparing technical documentation, and ensuring compliance with local codes. UPDA certification is mandatory, and proficiency in Arabic and English is required. The ideal candidate will have strong coordination skills and a deep understanding of local authority processes.

Job description

Design and develop mechanical systems including plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and utilities

Prepare detailed design calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation

Ensure designs comply with QCS, NFPA , and relevant local authority requirements

Coordinate closely with HVAC, electrical, architectural, and structural teams

Review shop drawings, material submittals, and contractor technical submissions

Participate in authority submissions, design reviews, and project coordination meetings

Provide technical support during site inspections and respond to design-related queries

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Minimum 8 years of professional experience , including at least 5 years in Qatar within a consultancy environment

UPDA Certification – Mandatory

Proficiency in Arabic (required) and English (professional level)

Must hold a valid QID with transferable visa
