Job summary

QatarEnergy seeks a senior Marine Master to manage the safe/efficient export of crude oil from Halul Terminal and provide expert marine support to QatarEnergy departments and joint ventures to achieve strategic goals.

You will monitor and control marine activities in the Halul Harbour and offshore fields, ensuring compliance with Offshore Marine Regulations and international standards including Collision Regulations, MARPOL, ISM, ISGOTT, and best practice in ship handling, cargo transfer, and

Qualifications

• Unlimited Foreign Going Class I (Ship Masters) Certificate of Competency or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Shipping Business and Maritime law (ISGOTT, ISM, MARPOL) is required.
• Experience in Oil and gas operations and related marine services preferred.

To monitor and control the Marine activities within the QatarEnergy Offshore Fields near Halul and within Halul Harbour ensuring compliance to Offshore Marine Regulations and International Marine Regulations including, but not limited to, the Collision Regulations, MARPOL, ISM codes, ISGOTT and safe working practices.

Primary Purpose of the Job

To carry out safe/efficient export of Crude oil from Halul Terminal and provide specialist Marine Support /advice to other QatarEnergy departments and Joint Ventures to achieve their short, medium and long-term business plans.

To monitor and control the Marine activities within the QatarEnergy Offshore Fields near Halul and within Halul Harbour ensuring compliance to Offshore Marine Regulations and International Marine Regulations including, but not limited to, the Collision Regulations, MARPOL, ISM codes, ISGOTT and safe working practices.

Required Experience and Skills

• Previous recognized pilotage experience.
• A sound in depth knowledge of various National and International Maritime Regulations and Legislations.
• Experience sufficient to acquire a Class I Certificate of Competence (minimum 10 years) together with experience in Oil and gas operations.
• The Marine field encompasses a multitude of disciplines and therefore experience in other marine operations besides tankers is desirable. Examples of other desirable experience are:- General cargo, Heavy Lift Vessels etc., Rig moving, Chartering, Offshore Oil Operations, Marine Inspection and Investigation, Marine Consultancy.

Educational Qualifications

• Unlimited Foreign Going Class I (Ship Masters) Certificate of Competency issued by or equivalent to United Kingdom Department of Transport together with HND or equivalent in Nautical Sciences with D.C.E (Petroleum) endorsement.
• Updated knowledge of Shipping Business and Maritime law, Advanced Navigational systems, International Chamber of Shipping and Oil Companies International Maritime Forum Recommendations and ISGOTT.
