QatarEnergy seeks a highly experienced Marine Master/Pilot to oversee safe and efficient export operations from Halul Terminal and nearby offshore fields. You will advise internal teams and JV partners on best practices, regulatory compliance, and voyage planning.
The role requires a Class I Master certificate, extensive pilotage experience, and deep knowledge of MARPOL, ISM, ISGOTT, and current maritime law. You will lead local Marine activities and ensure adherence to international standards.
To carry out safe/efficient export of Crude oil from Halul Terminal and provide specialist Marine Support /advise to other Qatar Energy departments and Joint Ventures to achieve their short, medium and long-term business plans.
To monitor and control the Marine activities within the Qatar Energy Offshore Fields near Halul and within Halul Harbour ensuring compliance to Offshore Marine Regulations and International Marine Regulations including, but not limited to, the Collision Regulations, MARPOL, ISM codes, ISGOTT and safe working practices.
Previous recognized pilotage experience. A sound in depth knowledge of various National and International Maritime Regulations and Legislations. Experience sufficient to acquire a Class I Certificate of Competence (minimum 10 years) together with experience in Oil and gas operations. The Marine field encompasses a multitude of disciplines and therefore experience in other marine operations besides tankers is desirable. Examples of other desirable experience are:- General cargo, Heavy Lift Vessels etc., Rig moving, Chartering, Offshore Oil Operations, Marine Inspection and Investigation, Marine Consultancy.
Unlimited Foreign Going Class I (Ship Masters) Certificate of Competency issued by or equivalent to United Kingdom Department of Transport together with HND or equivalent in Nautical Sciences with D. C. E (Petroleum) endorsement. Updated knowledge of Shipping Business and Maritime law, Advanced Navigational systems, International Chamber of Shipping and Oil Companies International Maritime Forum Recommendations and ISGOTT.
