Job summary

Qatar Airways is seeking a strategic procurement professional to develop and implement the Supplier Management (SRM) strategy for the Group, aligning third-party risk management and supplier engagement across QR operations.

You will lead supplier segmentation, SRM methodologies, data streams, and procurement framework development while coordinating with Oracle Wahed projects and driving localization with Qatari suppliers. Strong English, negotiation, and leadership skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic analysis to define alternate paths for SRM and supplier base management.
• Gain buy-in to the preferred SRM path and implement the solution.
• Develop supplier segmentation based on spend/criticality/value add.
• Create SRM methodologies for consistent management across defined segments.
• Set up a procurement framework guiding Business Areas on contracting and managing the supply base.
• Develop data streams to support the SRM approach, externally and internally.
• Coordinate with the Wahed project to align SRM with the Oracle Platform.
• Sponsor supplier localization engagement with Qatari suppliers.
• Perform other department duties as directed by the Head of the Department.

Description

Job Purpose

This job is responsible to develop and implement Qatar Airways Supplier Management strategy and approach, and the linked response to Third Party Risk Management.

Job Responsibilities

Strategic

• Provision of strategic analysis to define and create alternate paths for Qatar Airways to manage the thirdparty supplier base.
• Gain buys in to the preferred path across the Qatar Airways Group and following this implement the solution.

Operational

• Development of Supplier Segmentation approach - categorizing suppliers based on spend/criticality/value add.
• Development of SRM approach, creating methodologies for consistent management of QR relationship with suppliers for defined Segments (especially, Strategic Suppliers).
• Setting up and rolling out a procurement framework guiding Business Areas on contracting and managing supply base, addressing Internal Audit observations into Third Party Risk Management and ensuring full coverage of the QR Group.
• Development of detailed methodology for management of Strategic Suppliers, identified across QR Group as well as coordination of development and ownership on respective areas, actioned by a central Procurement group.
• Creation of appropriate data streams (both external and internal) to support the SRM approach, in
• particular regarding Strategic Suppliers.
• Involvement in project Wahed to ensure SRM approach is built / aligned and makes full use of the Oracle Platform.
• Sponsorship of the GBS Procurement drive to Supplier Localization, including developing and improving of engagement with Qatari suppliers.
• Perform other department duties related to his / her position as directed by the Head of the Department
