Job summary

Hamad International Airport seeks a senior IT leader to own and lead critical airport IT systems, ensuring nonstop operation of passenger journeys, baggage handling, and airfield activities. You will influence safety, efficiency, and passenger experience by maintaining secure, high-performing systems.

You will directly oversee incident leadership, problem management, and continuous delivery initiatives within an internal IT team operating in a large-scale airport environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in airport IT systems (AODB / BHS essential).
• Proven leadership of teams in a 24/7 environment.
• Strong incident & problem management ownership (hands-on).
• Experience in internal IT teams (not vendor-only).
• Experience in large-scale airport operations environments.
• Exposure to cyber / IT operations processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead 24/7 support of critical airport systems (AODB, BHS, operations platforms).
• Take full ownership of incidents.
• Ensure stability, availability, and recovery of systems impacting live airport operations.

Be at the heart of one of the world’s most advanced airports. In this role, you will own and lead critical airport IT systems that keep passenger journeys, baggage operations, and airfield activities running smoothly — 24/7.

You will directly impact operational safety, efficiency, and passenger experience by ensuring mission-critical systems are always available, secure and high-performing environment.

You will lead the support and stability of airport systems that directly impact daily airport operations.

Role Responsibilities:

• Lead 24/7 support of critical airport systems (AODB, BHS, operations platforms)
• Take full ownership of incidents
• Ensure stability, availability, and recovery of systems impacting live airport operations

Incident Leadership

• Personally lead major incidents end-to-end
• Handle high-pressure operational disruptions independently
• Drive root cause resolution and prevent recurrence
• This role requires someone who has already handled critical incidents at scale
• Manage a team of engineers and support staff
• Lead internal IT collaboration
• Build a high-performance support culture in a 24/7 environment

Ongoing Delivery & Projects

• Support continuous system improvements and enhancements
• Ensure smooth handover from project to BAU

What we are really looking for:

• 8+ years in airport IT systems (AODB / BHS essential)
• Proven leadership of team members in a 24/7 environment
• Strong incident & problem management ownership (hands‑on)
• Experience working within internal IT teams (not purely vendor-side)
