Job summary

Rits Qatar is seeking a senior engineer with 7–10 years of Oil & Gas experience to lead process safety and loss-prevention studies. The role involves conducting risk assessments, HAZOP/HAZID analyses, and supporting project design reviews to ensure alignment with QatarEnergy standards.

The ideal candidate will review safety deliverables, provide input on fire protection and emergency shutdown systems, and coordinate with the QatarEnergy loss-prevention department to close out action items.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in relevant engineering field.
• 7–10 years Oil & Gas experience.
• Experience in process safety and loss prevention engineering.
• Knowledge of HAZOP, HAZID, and safety studies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fire explosion and loss-prevention studies (e.g., HAZOP, QRA, fire & gas mapping) as required by the project.
• Review process safety and loss-prevention deliverables for compliance with QatarEnergy standards.
• Support design reviews and ensure incorporation of loss-prevention recommendations into engineering deliverables.
• Provide technical input on fire protection, gas detection and emergency shutdown systems.
• Liaise with QatarEnergy loss-prevention department on studies, reviews and close-out of actions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct fire explosion and loss-prevention studies e g HAZOP QRA fire amp gas mapping as required by the project


• Review process safety and loss-prevention deliverables for compliance with QatarEnergy standards


• Support design reviews and ensure incorporation of loss-prevention recommendations into engineering deliverables


• Provide technical input on fire protection gas detection and emergency shutdown response systems


• Liaise with QatarEnergy loss-prevention department on studies reviews and close-out of actions
