Job summary

Nakilat in Doha seeks a Chief Commercial & Business Development Officer to lead all commercial and chartering activities for LNG and Non-LNG shipping, monitor market trends, and build enduring relationships with major market players.

You will translate divisional strategy into annual plans, manage charter party terms and performance, oversee business development initiatives, and ensure compliance with safety, SHEQ and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marine Engineering or related field.
• Master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
• 12–15 years of relevant experience in chartering, shipping or commercial operations with leadership exposure.
• LNG chartering experience preferred (LPG/tanker experience also valued).
• Strong analytical and business evaluation skills, including project/investment analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial management: chartering and post-fixture operations for LNG/LPG vessels.
• Maintain dialogue with market players, brokers, and customers to identify opportunities.
• Guide charter party terms and monitor vessel performance against contracts.
• Coordinate with fleet managers to balance customer requirements, safety, and operations.
• Oversee market outlook analysis and identify potential opportunities and process improvements.

Education
