Job summary

Premier Padel seeks a commercially-minded Legal Counsel to join its legal team in Doha, Qatar. Reporting to the Legal Director, you will draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts including sponsorship, media rights, licensing, and event-related agreements, while advising on IP, data protection, and governance.

The role targets 3–5 years PQE, admission to practice in a Commonwealth jurisdiction or the US, outstanding academics, and the ability to operate in a fast-moving

Qualifications

• Admitted to practice law in a Commonwealth jurisdiction and/or the US.
• 3–5 years PQE as a lawyer at a leading law firm or in-house.
• Excellent academics.
• Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts.
• Interest/experience in sports law, media rights, sponsorship, events, IP, or commercial law is desirable.
• Experience advising on cross-border commercial matters.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiating, and advising on a wide range of commercial agreements (sponsorship, media rights, licensing, services, vendor, confidentiality, event-related).
• Provide day-to-day legal support on commercial, regulatory, and operational matters.
• Advise on IP, brand protection, data protection, and marketing activations.
• Assist with dispute management, claims, and pre-litigation matters; prepare correspondence and settlement documents.
• Coordinate with external counsel and ensure cost-effective support.
• Develop and maintain legal templates, policies, and contract management procedures.

Premier Padel, the official global professional padel tour, is seeking a commercially-minded and highly-capable Legal Counsel to join its legal team on a full-time basis in Doha, Qatar.

Reporting to the Legal Director, the Legal Counsel will support a broad range of legal, commercial, regulatory, governance, disciplinary, integrity, media, sponsorship, event, and operational matters across Premier Padel’s global business. The role is suited to a lawyer with approximately 3 to 5 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) who is looking to build a career at the intersection of elite professional sport, international business, and complex legal work.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders across the Premier Padel, including commercial, events, media, communications, finance, player relations, and tournament operations teams. The role requires strong legal judgment, excellent drafting skills, commercial pragmatism, and the ability to operate confidently in a fast-moving international sports environment.

Responsibilities

• Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on a wide range of commercial agreements, including tournament agreements, sponsorship agreements, media rights agreements, licensing agreements, supplier agreements, consultancy agreements, confidentiality agreements, services agreements, and event-related contracts.
• Providing day-to-day legal support to internal business teams on commercial, regulatory, and operational matters.
• Advising on intellectual property, brand protection, content usage, image rights, data protection, confidentiality, and marketing activations.
• Assisting with dispute management, claims, and pre-litigation matters, including preparing correspondence, briefing notes, and settlement documents.
• Working with external counsel where required, including managing instructions, reviewing advice, and ensuring external legal support is practical, cost-effective, and aligned with Premier Padel’s commercial objectives.
• Helping to develop and maintain legal templates, policies, approval processes, and contract management procedures.

Providing clear, practical, and business-oriented legal advice to non-lawyer stakeholders, including senior management.

Requirements

• Admitted to practice law in a Common wealth jurisdiction and/or the US.
• Approximately 3 to 5 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) as a lawyer at a leading law firm or in-house legal team.
• Excellent academics.
• Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts.
• Excellent technical legal skills, with the ability to identify legal risk, propose practical solutions, and communicate advice clearly.
• A strong interest in sport, with prior experience in sports law, media rights, sponsorship, events, entertainment, intellectual property, or commercial law being highly desirable.
• Experience advising on cross-border commercial matters and working with international stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear legal drafting, concise advice, and well-structured correspondence.
• The ability to manage multiple workstreams, meet deadlines, and operate effectively under pressure.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with stakeholders.
• A high level of attention to detail, combined with the ability to understand broader commercial and strategic objectives.

Fluency in English. Additional languages would be an advantage.
