Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group is seeking an Learning Manager at the InterContinental Doha Beach & Spa in Doha, Qatar. You will design, deliver and evaluate learning initiatives aligned with IHG standards to strengthen colleague capabilities and develop future leaders.

You will collaborate with the leadership team to identify development priorities and translate them into impactful solutions, ensuring onboarding, leadership development and succession planning are integrated with People & Culture

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Learning & Development / Training role within the luxury hospitality industry.
• Strong understanding of hospitality operations and the ability to translate operational needs into practical learning solutions.
• Proven experience in facilitating learning for diverse audiences and different levels of seniority.
• Strong knowledge of leadership development, talent management and succession planning.
• Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
• A creative and engaging approach to learning, with the ability to introduce new ideas and initiatives.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Confidence in working with senior leaders, HODs and operational teams.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to measure and communicate the impact of learning initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Drive the property's Learning & Development strategy aligned to business priorities and luxury service ambition.
• Conduct a structured Learning Needs Analysis and translate insights into a yearly learning plan.
• Oversee implementation and ongoing effectiveness of IHG University across the property.
• Ensure all mandatory, brand, and role-based learning pathways are deployed and tracked.
• Facilitate leadership development journeys for supervisors, managers, and senior leaders.
• Support PDPs and succession planning by identifying development priorities with People & Culture and department heads.
• Lead Departmental Trainer framework and coach departmental trainers.
• Train, coach, and support trainers to ensure consistency and effectiveness.

Your Day to Day

As Learning Manager, you will be responsible for designing, delivering and evaluating learning initiatives that support our business objectives, strengthen colleague capabilities and develop our future leaders.

You will work closely with the leadership team and Heads of Department to identify development priorities and translate them into impactful learning solutions aligned with IHG standards, brand values and our People & Culture strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the property Learning & Development strategy aligned to business priorities, brand expectations, and luxury service ambition.
• Conduct a structured Learning Needs Analysis and translate insights into a clear annual learning plan and calendar.
• Own the implementation, adoption, and ongoing effectiveness of IHG University across the property.
• Ensure all mandatory, brand, and role-based learning pathways are actively deployed, tracked, and completed.
• Facilitate leadership development journeys for supervisors, managers, and senior leaders using approved IHG learning content.
• Support PDPs and succession planning by identifying development priorities for high-potential talent in partnership with People & Culture and department heads.
• Lead and sustain a strong Departmental Trainer framework that enables learning to be delivered and reinforced within departments.
• Train, coach, and support departmental trainers to ensure consistency, confidence, and effectiveness.

What We Need From You

• Previous experience in a Learning & Development / Training role within the luxury hospitality industry, preferably in a large or international hotel environment.
• Strong understanding of hospitality operations and the ability to translate operational needs into practical learning solutions.
• Proven experience in facilitating learning for diverse audiences and different levels of seniority.
• Strong knowledge of leadership development, talent management and succession planning.
