Job summary

QAFCO in Mesaieed, Qatar seeks an experienced Senior Process Engineer to support the Head of Section in managing engineering activities for major projects, ensuring alignment with strategy and project objectives.

The role requires a minimum of 10 years in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industries, expertise in HAZOP/SIL, and a strong background in process design, safety, and project leadership for ammonia and urea facilities. Excellent coordination with EPCC and construction teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or relevant discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of direct and relevant experience in Oil & Gas / Petrochemical or EPC environments.
• Experience with process engineering software design and international standards.
• Exposure to product handling, ship loading, jetty or marine facilities and operations.
• Strong project management, leadership and team management skills.
• Experience in ammonia and urea major projects and related facilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development and review of process design deliverables (PFDs, P&IDs, heat and material balances).
• Lead HAZOP, SIL, and operability studies and ensure safety compliance.
• Coordinate with EPCC contractor, review vendor documents and datasheets.
• Support risk assessments and implement safety recommendations.
• Collaborate with construction to ensure proper installation and commissioning readiness.
