Senior Legal Officer
The Senior Legal Officer is responsible for reviewing and appropriately amending all official company contracts.
Client
Privately owned company, one of the largest retail distributors in Qatar. Responsible for bringing many luxury fashion, hospitality and beverage companies to the region.
Responsibilities
- Study, draft, and review various contracts and agreements such as franchise agreements, agency agreements, joint venture agreements, master service agreements, confidentiality agreements, memorandums of understanding, property‑related agreements and the like.
- Ensure the organization and its subsidiaries and affiliates are up to date with current corporate law.
- Handle legal translation documents as required and assist in research, ensuring compliance with best practice laws and corporate legal standards.
- Conduct research and legal studies.
- Assist in litigation.
- Prepare, negotiate and review legal agreements governing commercial relationships with second‑to‑third‑party entities.
- Scrutinize and verify documents for purchase/acquisition of premises for opening new businesses.
- Draft various types of property deeds and translate them as required.
- Coordinate with the legal team and colleagues.
- Assist the leadership team in developing the medium‑to‑long term vision.
- Assist in strategic planning within the department.
- Achieve the department’s strategic objectives.
Qualifications
- Graduate in Law.
- Bilingual in English and Arabic; French is an asset.
- In‑depth knowledge of commercial and common law, preferably in legal contracts, business acquisition & legal registration, banking, and insurance.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Computer literate using MS Office Suite.
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.
