Job summary

GHD in Qatar is seeking an experienced Land Surveyor to join a major Buildings and Infrastructure project. You will conduct field surveys, perform geodetic calculations, and validate survey requirements with clients and contractors.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a relevant field, at least 10 years in similar roles (5+ in the Middle East), and proficiency with CAD, total station, GPS, and data collectors. Excellent English communication is essential, with safety at site a priority.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 10 years experience in a similar role, including 5+ years in the Middle East.
• Knowledge of CAD software and survey tools (Total Station, GPS, data collectors).

Responsibilities

• Perform land field surveys and geodetic calculations.
• Interface with client and contractors to determine survey requirements.
• Complete surveying requirements on schedule within budgets.
• Check setting-out and levels; check services locations and protection.
• Prepare sketches to support field work and maintain survey records.
• Measure work and verify control points and benchmarks.
• Record initial and final levels of works; assist in as-built drawings.
• Review as-built drawings and related documents.
• Participate in site health and safety requirements as required.
• Review drawings and documents related to the works.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Land Surveyor to join a major Buildings and Infrastructure project Role amp ResponsibilitiesPerform land field surveys and geodetic calculations Interface with client and contractors to determine and verify project survey requirements Complete the surveying requirements on schedule and within man-hour and cost budgets Check setting-out and levels Check services locations and ensure their protection Prepare sketches to support the field work Maintain all the survey information field books sketches and calculations Measure work done when required Verification amp routine checks of control points and benchmarksRecording of initial and final levels of worksAssist in the preparation of as-built drawings Review of as-built record drawings Act positively and participate in all health and safety issues at site as required by the Resident Engineer and project Safety Representative Review drawings and documents related to the worksKnowledge of survey terminology and descriptive materials including maps plats drawings and specifications Bachelor s degree in relevant fieldMinimum 10 years experience in a similar roleMinimum 5 years Middle East experienceKnowledge and/or experience in using CAD software and survey software, total station, data collectors and GPS equipment.Good oral and written communication skills in English.Working knowledge of construction sequences and standard work procedures of the industry preferred.Qatar project experience preferredAbility to communicate clearly with site teams and management.
