Job summary

GHD is seeking an experienced Land Surveyor for a major Buildings and Infrastructure project in Doha, Qatar. You will perform field surveys, geodetic calculations, and ensure survey requirements align with project timelines and budgets.

You will interface with clients and contractors, check measurements and as-built records, and maintain survey data and documentation. Strong English communication and Qatar/Middle East experience are preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
10+ years’ experience in a similar role.
5+ years’ Middle East experience.
Experience using CAD software and survey software, total station, data collectors and GPS equipment.
Good oral and written communication skills in English.
Knowledge of construction sequences and standard work procedures.
Qatar project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform land/field surveys and geodetic calculations.
Interface with client and contractors to determine and verify project survey requirements.
Complete the surveying requirements on schedule and within man-hour and cost budgets.
Check setting-out and levels. Check services locations and ensure their protection.
Prepare sketches to support the field work. Maintain all the survey information (field books, sketches and calculations).
Verify and perform routine checks of control points and benchmarks.
Assist in the preparation of ‘as-built’ drawings and review of 'as-built' records.
Act on health and safety requirements at site as required by the Resident Engineer.
