• Understanding of quality control, calibration, and safe handling.

Job Summary

IIQAF Group is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Lab Technician to support clinical laboratory operations in a hospital environment in Doha, Qatar. The successful candidate will assist with collecting, receiving, preparing, and analyzing patient specimens, operating laboratory equipment, maintaining accurate test records, and ensuring that laboratory procedures are performed in accordance with established quality and safety standards.

This position is suitable for candidates with experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician, Clinical Laboratory Technician, Hospital Lab Technician, or Laboratory Technologist. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of specimen handling, laboratory testing procedures, quality control, infection prevention, and laboratory safety, with a commitment to accurate and timely diagnostic testing that supports patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, receive, label, identify, and process blood, urine, stool, swab, and other clinical specimens according to hospital laboratory procedures.
• Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures within the scope of professional qualifications and authorized responsibilities.
• Prepare specimens, reagents, slides, and laboratory materials for clinical and diagnostic testing.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment in accordance with manufacturer instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Conduct hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, urinalysis, and other laboratory investigations when trained and authorized to do so.
• Perform routine laboratory procedures and assist qualified laboratory professionals with specialized diagnostic testing as required.
• Verify specimen identification, labeling, collection details, and suitability before processing samples.
• Follow established procedures for specimen storage, transportation, preservation, and disposal.
• Record test results, specimen details, quality control data, and laboratory activities accurately in laboratory information systems and related documentation.
• Review test outputs for technical accuracy and report results through approved laboratory reporting procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or an equivalent relevant qualification recognized by the applicable Qatar licensing authority.
• Valid professional registration or licensing eligibility required to work as a laboratory professional in Qatar, as applicable to the role.
• Previous experience as a Lab Technician, Medical Laboratory Technician, Clinical Laboratory Technician, or Hospital Laboratory Technician is preferred.
• Experience working in a hospital laboratory, diagnostic laboratory, medical center, or clinical testing facility is an advantage.
• Knowledge of specimen collection, specimen processing, laboratory testing procedures, and diagnostic sample handling.
• Familiarity with hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, urinalysis, and other routine laboratory disciplines relevant to the position.
• Understanding of laboratory quality control, quality assurance, calibration procedures, and accurate result documentation.
• Knowledge of infection prevention, biosafety, biomedical waste disposal, and safe handling of clinical specimens.
