Job summary

Qatar Care in Doha is seeking a qualified Laboratory Technician for full-time, on-site work to support academic, clinical and research labs. You will collect and handle samples, perform tests, operate instruments, document results, and ensure safety and quality through QC/QA records.

The role requires a Diploma or Bachelor's in Medical Laboratory Science (or related) and 2–5 years' lab experience. Familiarity with analytical instrumentation and strict biosafety practices is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field.
• 2-5 years of laboratory experience in academic, clinical, or research settings.
• Familiarity with analytical laboratory instrumentation and safety/quality practices.

Responsibilities

• Collect, label, register, transport, and store samples.
• Maintain sample integrity and chain-of-custody.
• Perform standardized and research-specific laboratory testing.
• Operate equipment (spectrophotometers, centrifuges, thermocyclers, microscopes, pH meters, ELISA, electrophoresis, chromatography).
• Follow SOPs for testing, calibration, and QC.
• Assist researchers with experiments and sample prep.
• Record results, observations, and anomalies.
• Maintain logs and QC/QA documentation and inventory.
• Prepare basic reports and result summaries.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of equipment.
• Support calibration and preventive maintenance.
• Assist with teaching lab setup and preparation of kits and reagents.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with procurement and delivery verification.
• Ensure proper labeling, storage, and expiry tracking of chemicals and biological materials.
• Follow biosafety and PPE requirements and report safety concerns.
