Job summary

Zuma Restaurants in Doha is seeking a Junior Sous Chef to support the kitchen leadership and elevate the guest dining experience. You will help maintain high standards, mentor a large team, and contribute to crafting seasonal, authentic Japanese-inspired dishes.

Qualifications

• Experience as Junior Sous Chef or higher in a luxury, high-volume restaurant.
• Passion for Japanese cuisine or Izakaya-inspired concepts is a plus.
• Strong mentoring and training abilities for a large kitchen team.
• Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service quality.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mise en place to ensure uninterrupted service while upholding quality, appearance and taste.
• Mentor the team, providing training, guidance, and support to sustain Zuma standards.
• Strive for consistent high-quality service and guest experience.
• Evaluate guest experiences and implement improvements for consistency.
• Collaborate with Head Chef to craft and refine seasonal creations.

Main Duties

• To maintain all mise en place at a sufficient level to ensure an uninterrupted flow of food during the service period whilst controlling the quality, consistency, appearance and taste
• To mentor the team, providing training, guidance, and support to maintain Zuma standards
• To consistently strive for quality of service and consistency in our experience to our guests
• Evaluate guest experiences, implement service improvements, and strive for consistency in delivering exceptional hospitality
• Work alongside the Head Chef to craft and refine creations, incorporating seasonal ingredients and unique culinary concepts
