Job summary

METROMET CONTRACTING WLL is seeking a Resident IT Engineer in Doha to handle day‑to‑day IT operations, infrastructure admin and end‑user support. You will oversee Windows/AD, Microsoft 365, network services, security, servers, backups and telephony while coordinating with IT management and vendors.

The role requires hands‑on experience with Aruba, Palo Alto, Barracuda and NEC PBX systems, plus strong troubleshooting and cabling skills. On‑site delivery in Qatar is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in IT operations, infrastructure administration and end-user support.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 & security services; practical network troubleshooting.
• Relevant certifications will be considered as a preference.

Responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day IT operations support and infrastructure administration.
• Troubleshoot IT issues and perform preventive maintenance.
• Assist end users and coordinate with IT management and external vendors.

Job description

The Resident Engineer shall provide day-to-day IT operational support infrastructure administration troubleshooting preventive maintenance user assistance and coordination with the organization s IT management and relevant vendors The engineer will support the organization s end-user computing environment network infrastructure Microsoft 365 environment security systems servers backup systems telephony and other IT infrastructure The Resident Engineer will work under the direction and supervision of the organization s designated IT Manager IT Representative The proposed Resident Engineer should have practical experience in:

• Windows 10/11 administration and troubleshooting
• Microsoft Active Directory
• Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft Intune
• LAN/WAN troubleshooting, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs and switching
• Aruba network switches and Wi-Fi troubleshooting
• Palo Alto Networks firewalls
• Windows File Server administration
• Barracuda Backup and Barracuda Web Application Firewall
• NEC telephone/PBX systems
• Structured cabling and IT hardware troubleshooting
• Relevant Microsoft, Aruba, Palo Alto, Barracuda, networking or cybersecurity certifications will be considered as a preference.
