Job summary

METROMET CONTRACTING WLL in Doha is seeking a Resident Engineer to provide day-to-day IT operational support, infrastructure administration, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance under the IT Manager.

You will support end-user computing, network, Microsoft 365, security systems, servers, backups, telephony, and coordinate with vendors; experience with Windows, AD, and Palo Alto is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with Windows Server and Active Directory administration.
• Strong IT troubleshooting and end-user support background.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune preferred.
• Networking knowledge across LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
• Experience with Aruba switches and Wi‑Fi troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Palo Alto Networks firewalls is a plus.
• Experience with Windows File Server administration.
• Experience with Barracuda Backup and Barracuda Web Application Firewall.
• Familiarity with NEC telephone/PBX systems and structured cabling.

Job description

The Resident Engineer shall provide day-to-day IT operational support, infrastructure administration, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, user assistance, and coordination with the organization's IT management and relevant vendors. The engineer will support the organization's end-user computing environment, network infrastructure, Microsoft 365 environment, security systems, servers, backup systems, telephony, and other IT infrastructure. The Resident Engineer will work under the direction and supervision of the organization's designated IT Manager / IT Representative.

Desired Candidate Profile

The proposed Resident Engineer should have practical experience in:

• Windows 10/11 administration and troubleshooting; Microsoft Active Directory.
• Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft Intune.
• LAN/WAN troubleshooting, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs and switching.
• Aruba network switches and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
• Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
• Windows File Server administration.
• Barracuda Backup and Barracuda Web Application Firewall.
• NEC telephone/PBX systems.
• Structured cabling and IT hardware troubleshooting.

Relevant Microsoft, Aruba, Palo Alto, Barracuda, networking or cybersecurity certifications will be considered as a preference.
